In this critical role, he/she will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing overall architecture and engineering capabilities across digital and core enterprise products, in close partnership with respective product, security and infrastructure, and headquarter teams. This role will report to the Managing VP of Tech & Digital Greater China. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Strategic Leadership + Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy, roadmap and governance framework for Greater China in concert with Chief Technology Officer organization. + Provide leadership and vision for the engineering team, drive the software development standard to ensure the predictability, consistency, quality and satisfaction in accordance to the company and industrial standard and best practices + Provide strategic technology perspective and guidance for the optimization of existing and emerging technology applications and infrastructure for Greater China + Provide leadership in all leadership aspects of compliance to Marriott International policies relating directly to technology, information security and hardware and software standards + Technical Oversight + Oversee the design, development and implementation of large-scale, mission critical software systems, applications and infrastructure + Ensure consistent and high-quality delivery across software development and enterprise solution design and deployment + Ensuring the respective technology and engineering needs in related to Marriott International are met in a manner that is consistent with MI systems and technology standards + Ensures compliance with all Marriott International Policies (MIP) and Information Security Manual (ISM) initiatives + Lead the evaluation and appropriate adoption of the emerging technologies to continuously elevate our engineering capability to enable the value to our business + Project Management + Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. + Operational Excellence + Implement and improve engineering processes, methodologies and tools + Ensure that all technology initiatives comply with relevant laws, industry standards, and best practices for security and data protection + Drive initiatives to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of systems + Manage the technology budget, optimize resources, and reduce costs without compromising quality or performance + Team Management and Development + Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technologists, engineers, and developers to deliver innovative and reliable technology solutions. + Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development + Recruit, hire and retain top engineering talent + Define, track and measure the performance of the engineering team + Collaboration and Partnership + Working in a close partnership with the other Global Technology and Digital functions to provide a seamless response to the technology needs of the business. + Identify and establish strategic partnerships with technology providers and other industry leaders to stay at the forefront of innovation. **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** _Required:_ + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred + 12+ years in technology management, demonstrating progressive career growth, to include as a technology leader on a senior leadership team, and patterns of exceptional performance. + Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies, trends, and their potential applications in the hospitality sector + In-depth knowledge and strong experience of JAVA technology, web and mobile application development frameworks, Azure/AWS/Alicloud, containerization, DevOps, Micro-services and API + Expertise in modern programming languages like JAVA, Python, Go etc + Deep understanding of database systems, both SQL and nonSQL + Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. + Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills. + Experience in managing budgets and making cost-effective decisions. + Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile and Waterfall, OKR + Knowledge of IT security and compliance regulations, especially those relevant to the hospitality industry + Fluency in English and Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking) _Preferred:_ + Proven experience as a CTO or similar executive-level role in the hospitality industry, with a strong background in managing large-scale digital projects in banking, hotels, or airlines **Leadership Competencies** **Create Belonging - Build relationships by promoting an environment of collaboration, trust, respect, opportunity, and inclusion.** + Builds relationships and collaborates with partners/customers on creating innovative service strategies to maximize results. + Resolves escalated external partner/customer issues. + Facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and balances the interests of the Company, Continent, brand, and owners. + Builds and maintains strategic and diverse partnerships across the Company, brand, and discipline to drive innovation, engagement, and achieve goals. **Develop Others - Develop diverse, inclusive, and high-performing talent and teams.** + Holds leaders accountable for building teams with the appropriate mix of diversity, talent, and skills to drive innovation and performance. + Contributes to the development of future senior leaders and holds direct reports accountable for developing others. + Systematically leads talent reviews and ensures succession plans are in place for key leadership positions within areas of responsibility. + Makes effective hiring decisions at the most senior levels of the organization and facilitates successful onboarding of new hires. + Coaches direct reports and holds them accountable for creating an environment where everyone is valued in all business processes. **Lead Change - Courageously lead change, innovation, inspire others through optimism, and adapt to changing business needs.** + Effectively and with optimism communicates strategies, goals, and priorities to inspire stakeholders. + Acts in the Company’s best interest when making decisions;
