Job Description

Background:

Brookfield is seeking a Vice President to join the Brookfield Properties’ Multifamily Asset Management team, based in Dallas Texas. This is an opportunity to join an experienced team responsible for one of Brookfield’s largest real estate sector portfolios.

The relevant multifamily holdings total 100+ assets valued at $17B, ranging across various geographic regions in the U.S. and across various investment strategies, including stabilized and development assets/portfolios.

The Vice President will focus on portfolio management and asset management responsibilities for Brookfield’s existing portfolio of Multifamily Assets and manage relationships with Brookfield Multifamily affiliates and operating partners.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Drive Operating Strategy: Craft high-level operating strategies for the Multifamily portfolio, aligned with fund objectives, asset life cycles, financing status, and the overall capital stack. Provide strategic oversight of cross-functional teams to implement and execute business plans, including ground-up development and renovation projects.

2. Annual Planning and Budget Management: Lead the creation of annual business plans and oversee the review and approval of annual budgets to ensure alignment with investment goals.

3. Strategic Investment Oversight: Analyze and interpret asset and investment performance, including monitoring key metrics, updating and explaining asset performance, and responding to emerging trends in operating results to identify and capitalize on value-add opportunities.

4. Valuations and Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee quarterly valuations, modeling updates, and liquidity. Serve as a key point of contact for investors and lenders, addressing inquiries and managing and leading site tours.

5. Performance Reporting and Recommendations: Present detailed financial and investment performance metrics on Brookfield Multifamily Portfolio to executive leadership. Provide strategic recommendations on asset-level business plans and portfolio management initiatives.

6. Market Analysis and Transaction Support: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic trends in the Multifamily sector as well as market-specific trends and dynamics. Support deal teams during the valuation process for prospective investments.

7. Travel and Site Engagement: Conduct routine site visits and travel as needed to maintain a hands-on perspective of asset operations and performance.

Requirements:

This position requires an Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree in Finance, Business or another related field

10+ years of required experience in Real Estate Asset Management or Portfolio Management.
