Job Description

We are looking for a Clinical Coordinator for the BSN Nursing Program to join our team.

The Clinical Coordinator oversees the daily operations of all aspects of clinical experiences in the Nursing Department. This includes, but is not limited to, clinical faculty, students, and clinical agencies. The Clinical Coordinator works closely with didactic and lead faculty to ensure that clinical experiences and practice skills are solidly integrated with and reflect application of theoretical material presented in the classroom and laboratory. The Clinical Coordinator participates in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of clinical faculty.

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and evaluating clinical sites used for clinical experiences in all nursing courses and maintaining positive relationships with staff at all clinical sites. The Coordinator participates in clinical faculty performance evaluation and assists as needed with student clinical placement. The Coordinator assists in orienting clinical faculty to ensure that program and course outcomes are met and makes site visits during each clinical rotation to evaluate and provide support for clinical instructors. The Clinical Coordinator may provide clinical coverage and teach courses, as needed. The Coordinator assists the Career Services Department in placement of newly licensed graduates into nursing positions.

Assists with planning, developing, managing, updating and evaluating all aspects of the program.Assists with preparing data and other written materials for all required state and Board requirements including reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, audits, and site visits.Assist in the training of new faculty and the professional development of existing faculty.Assist in planning faculty staffing to ensure course coverage.Ensures theory and clinical evaluations are completed in a timely manner by assigned faculty.Assists in gathering evaluations from students, clinical sites. representatives, and faculty upon completion of each clinical rotationAssist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.Makes continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction.Ensures clinical assignments, clinical rotation matrixes and calendars are completed in a timely manner.Ensures faculty are consistently following policies and guidelines as related to student clinical rotation experience.Reviews student learning material on an ongoing basis.Ensures student records are maintained according to policies.Submits required program reports and forms to the Program Director in a timely manner.Keeps current with new technologies and safety regulations.Provides advising support and planning assistance to potential and current students.Ensures all students have completed the necessary documentation and meet the requirements for graduation and the state licensing exam.Teach (either theory or clinical) half of the time as needed.Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsHold a valid, clear and current active license as a Vocational or Registered Nurse in assigned state.Demonstrates effective problem-solving and leadership skills.The ability to communicate pertinent information in a timely manner to appropriate personnel.The ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.Have a minimum of three years’ experience as a registered nurse or vocational nurse; one year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof.
