The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to join our Infrastructure Automation team. In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing DHS’ VMware virtualization environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
The VMware Engineer should feel comfortable optimizing the VMware implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance DHS’ overall security posture. This role is part of a team of Infrastructure Automation and Security Engineers working to define, develop, and manage strategies that reduce risk and improves resiliency.


Responsibilities:
The VMware Engineer will:

Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server and related componentsPlan and execute upgrades, patches, and migrations for VMware infrastructureImplement and manage VMware solutions such as vSAN, NSX, vRealize Suite, and Horizon VDIOptimize virtual machine performance, resource allocation, and capacity planningDevelop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for virtual environmentsTroubleshoot complex issues related to virtualization infrastructureAutomate VMware operations using Power CLI, APIs, and other scripting toolsDocument and map the architecture of current virtualized infrastructureSupport the development of a Infrastructure and Security roadmapCollaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall posture through automationStay current with emerging security technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements or additions.


Qualifications:

Required: 

Ability to attain DHS EOD and Top Secret clearanceITIL V4 Foundations certification (or obtain in first 6 months)BA/BS or equivalent +10 years of experience (AA/AS +12yrs)Significant experience with VMware virtualization technologiesStrong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and NSXFamiliarity with server hardware, storage systems, and networking concepts5 or more years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT supportProficiency in scripting and automation (PowerCLI, Python, or similar)Experience working with and guiding technicians with varying skill levels and supporting end users remotelyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing security workflowsProfessional, customer-oriented, and even-keeled under pressureEffective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
