You will create template-driven motion design for our News division shows. You must be technically savvy, with full proficiency in Viz Artist, to serve a wide range of duties for the division. Must be a creative and technical problem-solver, a multi-tasker with the ability to work under pressure, while providing creative solutions to service the needs of multiple news shows, both live and pre-taped. Must have practical and extensive expertise in Transition Logic and Template Wizard. Designer who lives and breathes motion design, whose work displays attention to detail, a strong command of typographic design, and an aesthetic that is never behind our current moment. Must be capable of working in a high-pressure, fast-changing live news environment, balancing competing priorities diplomatically and quickly. You have excellent communication skills, with the desire to learn, and share ideas with a group of creative individuals.

This position requires the full understanding of the immediacy of the News work environment.

YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)

Collaborate with Art Director / Lead Vizrt Designer and other colleagues, to service multiple news shows in the division.Take initiative on projects and deliver innovative solutions for daily News shows, and special coverage.Adhere to brand guidelines, while pushing creative boundariesWork creatively and collaboratively with other staff members, including producers, engineering, and production control staff.Incorporating Univision News visual brand sensibilities in all designs, consistently and efficiently.Manage our templates, workflows, and build and maintain styles.Respond and develop skills across programs & platforms in response to changing business and technical needs as part of the graphics development team.

YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)

Minimum 3+ years of professional experience using Viz ArtistProficiency in Transition Logic and Data PoolKnowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and Viz Artist.Experience templating within the Vizrt suite of software (Template Wizard, Content Pilot)Experience with real-time 3D render engines in a data-driven environment (e.g., elections, weather etc.)Coding experience with VBScript and Viz Script; knowledge of other scripting languages is highly beneficial.Understanding of television control room workflow and operationsDemonstrate an understanding of visual language and graphic design.Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.Must have a current and evolving sense of design with an excellent eye for detail.Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced work environment.Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within extremely tight deadlines. Some projects will require weekend/longer hours.Able to adapt quickly to ever-evolving technology.Ability to accept direction, and constructive criticism.Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.Must be flexible on the schedule, must be willing to work nights and weekends, as well as holidays.
