The Cardiovascular Health Tech Laboratory (https://www.engineering.pitt.edu/subsites/Labs/chtl/) within the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a Visiting Research Assistant Professor position.
The Laboratory has various projects for establishing new technologies for cardiovascular patient monitoring including wearables (e.g., smartphones) for measuring blood pressure and tracking heart failure and hospital and implantable devices for advanced hemodynamic monitoring. The Laboratory has seamless access to patients at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
The position involves innovating, building, and validating sensors and instrumentation for active as well as new projects. The position may additionally involve implementing data analytics including machine learning.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Bioengineering or Electrical Engineering or a related area; >5 years experience post Ph.D. degree; the ability to work independently and as part of a team of engineers, scientists, and clinicians; and motivation for cardiovascular technologies.
The appointment is intended for one year with the possibility of extension. The start date is flexible with a preference for candidates that can begin as soon as possible. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
