Vice President Strategic Procurement, Indirect (Remote - Anywhere in Europe or USA)

The Vice President Strategic Procurement, Indirect, is responsible for driving a competitive business advantage by implementing innovative strategies and processes for cost reduction, cost avoidance, service and quality enhancement, risk management, and delivery excellence for the corporation’s non-production expenditures for goods and services totaling $2.5B annually. The position will be responsible for leadership and implementation of strategies and standards to support segments, platforms, regions, and operating companies with their global indirect supplier spend. The individual will provide management supervision of category leaders at the corporate level and will influence and drive outcomes across a matrix environment for the entire indirect procurement function. This position is a key part of the Corporate Global Strategic Procurement leadership team and will be remote. Candidate can be based anywhere in US or Europe. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + In partnership with our operating companies, manage a team of procurement professionals in executing priorities, strategies and processes to deliver on commitments to improve Danaher’s core value drivers while ensuring service levels are achieved. + Recruit and nurture key talent + As a subject matter expert, provide market intelligence and share information about industry and global best practices, innovative ideas, collaborative opportunities and budget guidance + Work across the corporation to set policy and strategy for indirect procurement activities including funnel management, common metrics, spend visibility, supplier management, and talent development + Ensure our supply base is compliant with all Danaher requirements and the Supplier Code of Conduct The essential requirements of the job include: + Undergraduate degree in relevant area such as supply chain, business management, operations or finance with a preference for an advanced degree + A minimum of 10 years’ combined leadership experience in procurement or other supply chain-related functions, with at least 5 years leading an Indirect Procurement function at a global company + Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal + Experience with many of the following indirect procurement categories: Business services, real estate, Travel and Fleet, IT, HR, Marketing, MRO, Capex, Utilities + Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous situations, know how to resolve conflicts and have a proven track record of achieving results + Experience negotiating with C-suite executives at supplier companies + Demonstrated ability to work with various associates in multiple functional areas including finance, operations, IT, procurement and executive management, across multiple countries / cultures + Full proficiency in use of computer tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other database type tools. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + A large decentralized or center-led organization + Experience in managing direct and indirect reports in a matrix environment The salary range for this role is 270000 - 300000.
