Vice President of Managed Service Engineering
Reports to: Chief Services Officer
As the Vice President of Managed Service Engineering, you will drive the technical strategy and execution of the company's managed services portfolio, focused on delivering secure, scalable, and compliant healthcare cloud solutions. Reporting to the Chief Services Officer, you will lead a high-performing engineering organization responsible for ensuring seamless service delivery, continuous innovation, and alignment with industry regulations such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
This role is pivotal in shaping the company’s service architecture, enhancing operational efficiency, and positioning the organization as a trusted partner for healthcare providers, payers, and med techs navigating complex cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Define and execute the managed services engineering strategy, aligning with the company's growth and client-centric objectives. Provide technical vision for service delivery and business architecture, ensuring the adoption of industry best practices in cloud security, operations, and compliance. Collaborate with senior executive leadership to align engineering efforts with organizational goals and market demands. Partner horizontally across the company to execute operational objectives for other internal teamsService Operations & Engineering
Oversee the ongoing engineering operations across all three major cloud providers to provide secure and compliant healthcare cloud solutions. Maintain and improve frameworks for incident management, disaster recovery, and operational resilience in line with healthcare industry standards. Drive automation and process improvements to enhance service delivery and reduce operational costs.Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead cross-functional teams of engineers and operations professionals and their leadership teams. Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture with a focus on continuous learning and innovation. Scale the engineering organization to support business growth and evolving client needs.Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST) and industry certifications. Oversee security and compliance remediation efforts to maintain compliance and client trust. Embed security-by-design principles across all managed service offerings.Client and Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a technical advisor to key clients, articulating the value of managed services and the company's approach to security and compliance. Support pre-sales efforts, collaborating with sales teams to develop tailored solutions for prospective clients. Maintain strong relationships with partners and vendors to optimize the managed services ecosystem.Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Define and track KPIs for service performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Regularly review and enhance engineering processes to meet evolving healthcare and cloud security demands. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to keep services competitive and innovative.Qualifications
Experience: 12+ years in cloud engineering, managed services, or IT operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience with healthcare cloud solutions, including regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST). Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern security frameworks. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience. Skills and Certifications: Strong knowledge of cloud security, DevOps, and ITIL frameworks. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, or similar.
