A Day in Your Life at MKS:The Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations is a senior leader in the Information Technology organization at MKS. The VP leads a global team of technologists accountable for the efficiency, security and scalability of MKS’s: data centers, cloud services, networks, and internal customer facing IT support services including end-user compute and service desk. The VP is responsible for a seamless integration and performance of these components, driving innovation, operational excellence and innovation in alignment with MKS’s strategic goals.
This position is Hybrid within commutable distance to our headquarters in Andover, MA.You Will Make an Impact By:
+ Develop, document and socialize a comprehensive infrastructure and operations strategy that aligns to MKS strategy.
+ Balance strategic aspirations for the function with budget constraints proactively negotiating trade off with peers in IT to ensure technology budget is allocated to the highest value purpose for MKS.
+ Partner with peers and OCIO function to scope, schedule and advance tactical units of work in support of strategic delivery.
+ Manage budget within plan creating mechanisms and culture for continuous cost optimization and process improvement.
+ Support periodic reviews by audit teams, compliance teams and other risk related functions as required.
+ Serve as the technology sponsor to transformative change programs in the infrastructure and operations space including but not limited to technical debt remediation efforts. With CISO, serve as co-technology sponsor to transformative change programs associated with environment hardening.
+ Improve IT resilience by executing strategies that improve reliability, tolerability and disaster readiness.
+ Scope, schedule and advance operational excellence initiatives aimed at improving internal customer experience with IT systems and services including but not limited to help desk, FSO, network/ wifi, onboarding and offboarding and conference room experience.
+ Develop staff by assessing, coaching, mentoring and following firm-approved performance measurement and management processes.
+ Provide strategic direction and oversight for the full life cycle of IT systems working in close partnership with peers. Identify and follow through on opportunities where common approaches, solutions and shared platforms provided by I&O could drive efficiency.
+ Direct the development of an I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight in this domain for the OCIO partner and relationship management function.
+ Own infrastructure and operations budget demonstrating and actioning line level depth on Infrastructure and operations cost drivers and ensuring compliance with monthly and quarterly timelines for budget updates.
Skills You Bring:
+ Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field or equivalent work experience.
+ 20+ years experience in IT Industry with at least 10 years in Infrastructure and Operations.
+ 10+ years of senior leadership responsibilities including setting strategy, staffing to win, management and oversight of execution.
+ Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
+ Proven people leader with the ability to manage and influence change at all levels of the organization
+ Able to synthesize complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
+ Strong business acumen including industry and domain specific knowledge.
+ Metrics- and measures minded individual with a history of developing meaningful data to communicate progress and variance from expectations
+ Proven ability to craft tactics, and operations that directly contribute to strategic aspirations
+ Solid executive presence with proven ability to speak in a compelling manner to company leadership including the board of directors. Polished in both prepared and ad-hoc encounters.
