Reporting to Lisa Yerian, MD, Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical and Operational Improvement Officer, the Vice President of Lean Transformation Improvement is responsible for the vision, leadership and execution of global Lean transformation strategies that drive sustainable results and innovate care delivery to 14.5 million patients served across the globe. This leader ensures enterprise-wide objectives that are achieved through best-in-class Lean practices, a robust management system and Lean continuous improvement initiatives, integrated with advanced technology. Supporting key executives, this leader will spearhead cross-functional collaboration, fostering a culture of Lean thinking and performance excellence across the global enterprise. This is the ideal role for a proven Lean transformation and sustainability executive with measurable outcomes. This executive must have the ability to inspire and sustain momentum in initiatives and must possess strong leadership behaviors, including influencing, empathy and team development. Additionally, this executive will have the capability to recruit, develop and retain top talent in Lean continuous improvement. Healthcare experience is not mandatory for this role, but the candidate must be adept at learning and developing relationships within a complex organization. A caregiver who excels in this role, will: + Lead the organization's Lean transformation, using best-in-class improvement methods and technologies to engage all caregivers, create value, reduce costs and accelerate results. + Develop, communicate and execute the Lean improvement vision and strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and fostering a culture focused on high reliability and continuous improvement. + Establish a comprehensive Lean operating and management system based on the Cleveland Clinic Improvement Model to achieve strategic goals. + Benchmark and integrate industry best practices to maintain cutting-edge status in Lean and improvement methodologies. + Mentor teams and leaders to embed Lean thinking and effective improvement practices throughout the organization. + Build and lead a high-performing team that delivers significant value through Lean transformation, strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives. + Support the development of the improvement team and talent pipeline through continuous coaching, team engagement and skill enhancement. + Utilize resource management tools for effective leadership, performance management, talent development and succession planning. + Collaborate with teams to integrate and expand the Cleveland Clinic Operating System, ensuring sustainable performance improvements aligned with strategic objectives. + Lead change management initiatives and address stakeholder resistance through strategic communication and engagement. + Partner with business units to develop dashboards, metrics and scorecards to track progress and success. + Oversee the development and implementation of enterprise improvement standards, tools and methodologies for strategic execution. + Conduct audits and reviews of current Lean systems and initiatives to validate performance outcomes. + Design and oversee policies and initiatives for consistent monitoring and delivery of process improvement across the enterprise. + Champion new and refined processes, coaching teams for optimal execution and performance measurement. + Utilize data, customer insights and Gemba experiences to identify, prioritize and evaluate improvement opportunities and their impacts. + Ensure project alignment and timely completion, regularly reporting progress, outcomes and challenges to executive leadership. + Manage budget and resources to meet organizational priorities and project demands efficiently. Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: + Experience leading transformational change and ability to effectively communicate the vision and goals of the transformation to stakeholders at all levels of the organization + Experience transforming culture, behaviors and practices, and leveraging management systems to improve safety, quality, delivery and/or cost, in multiple environments + Healthcare experience Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: + Master's degree + A deep understanding of Lean transformation, including implementation of a Lean management system + Master Black Belt or Lean Gold certification (demonstrated relevant training and experience may substitute for certification) + 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years of experience leading sustained Lean Transformation and/or Continuous Improvement cultural and operational transformation work, including components of a lean management system, in a matrixed environment + At least five years of experience managing staff or large project teams, with multi-facility focus + Demonstrated experience and responsibility for recruitment, budgeting and strategic development, with a strong track record of success + Expertise in lean and continuous improvement methodologies + Ability to set and drive strategy for ongoing improvement transformation and sustainability + Technical skills in lean tools and concepts, and the ability to apply them effectively + Ability to influence and develop team engagement, effectiveness and agility + Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and influence peers, senior executives and the CEO **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. + Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + Ability to travel throughout the health system. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $87.24 Maximum hourly: $172.29 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
