Overview
The Vice President of Total Rewards is a key member of the HR leadership team, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive multi-state Total Rewards strategy. This role ensures compensation and benefits are aligned with business goals to attract, retain, and motivate top talent, while optimizing operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. The VP operates at both a strategic level in collaboration with senior executives and at a tactical execution-oriented level to ensure successful program implementation. The role also plays a critical role in HR due diligence, integration planning, and execution during mergers and acquisitions.
ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement a forward-thinking total rewards strategy that supports ENFRA's multi—state business goals and enhances employee engagement.
• Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation structures, including base pay and variable incentives, ensuring alignment with market trends and internal equity.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on executive compensation matters, preparing materials for the Compensation Committee and Chief Leadership Team, and ensuring compliance with governance standards.
• Manage the development and execution of comprehensive self-funded benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and other ancillary benefits, ensuring they meet employee needs and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Support Total Rewards integration efforts during M&A transactions, including due diligence, risk assessments, harmonization of compensation/benefits plans, systems integration, and employee communications.
• Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Ensure all compensation and benefits programs adhere to legal and regulatory standards, including ERISA, FLSA, and other applicable laws.
• Monitor market trends and ensure competitive and compliant reward programs across global jurisdictions.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technology platforms across the HR portfolio.
• Lead and develop a high-performing total rewards team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Partner with HR, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive implementation of total rewards strategies.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive HR experience with at least 10 years focused on compensation and benefits, and at least 7 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record leading Total Rewards in complex, multi-state organizations.
• Experience leading or supporting HR M&A activities, including due diligence, post-deal integration, and organizational harmonization.
• Deep expertise in compensation strategy, executive pay, incentive programs, and benefits administration.
• Strong business acumen, executive presence, and communication skills; able to influence at all levels, including with boards of directors.
• Demonstrated success leading change, scaling HR operations, and driving enterprise-wide transformation
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
• Able to work effectively and efficiently across functions and have a proven track record of working successfully across multiple levels of an organization
• Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
• Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
• Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
