Job Description

Vice President, Finance and Accounting

Responsibilities:

The individual in this role manages aspects of the day-to-day workflow of the Finance and Accounting team and supports the Director of Finance and Accounting.

The Vice President, Finance and Accounting is responsible for the following:

PSG’s consolidated financial statements, along with the annual audit process and preparation of analyses/memoranda related to the GAAP and IFRS treatment of various items in the financial statements

Reviewing account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements

Analyzing financial results for the current reporting period versus prior reporting periods.

Quarterly and annual management reporting and financial reporting required by the Brookfield Asset Management corporate team in Toronto

Management reporting required by senior management

Managing the day-to-day work of staff members

In addition, working closely with the Director of Finance to assist with executive-level reporting/communications

Candidate Education and Experience:

Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA or equivalent), with at least 6-9 years of ‘Public Accounting’ (or similar) experience preferred.

Strong financial background, ideally with a experience in financial services.

Demonstrated ability of leveraging information technology to achieve business objectives

A history of project or team management preferred

Candidate Attributes: 

Ability to envision the “big picture”, while being “hands-on” and maintaining close attention to detail

Strong Microsoft Excel Skills a must

Results-oriented and committed to meeting deadlines

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to deal effectively at all levels within an organization

High energy, proactive, and self-motivated

Strong leadership and managerial skills

Ability to function with minimal or no supervision

Willingness to take on complex projects
