As a member of the leadership team, this position is responsible for managing and growing the colocation business at TierPoint. Requiring cross-functional expertise and a deep understanding of the data center industry, the VP of Colocation Services will drive the strategy and new revenue-generating activities.

 

The ideal candidate is a strategic business leader with a team-based, cross-functional perspective coupled with a relentless passion for results and achievement. The individual must be able to grow recurring B2B business based on their insights into colocation services, the data center industry, target verticals, and strategic partnerships. The VP of Colocation Services understands the competitive environment and has the ability to craft successful sales growth strategies in close alignment with the Sales, Solution Engineering, Product, Operations, and Marketing functions.

 

Culturally, this individual must build positive and strong relationships internally with cross-functional peers. Teamwork with the Product, Commercial, and Operations organization will be critical as they work together to refine solutions that can be successfully sold, delivered, and supported throughout the customer’s life cycle. 

Responsibilities Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.Act as subject matter expert supporting colocation sales activities with strategic, high-density, and complex solution development Provide support for colocation customer contract negotiations.Establish short term and long-term strategy to achieve significant growth of colocation sales activityEnsure sales organization has the skills and knowledge to communicate colocation service attributes and TierPoint’s value proposition to new and existing customersContinually refine pre-sales processes to ensure efficient solution development, quoting, pricing, and contractingProvide market expertise with regards to use cases, technology drivers like GPU’s and AI, competitive intel, pricing, and value propositionsEvaluate and recommend refinements to product models to maintain market competitiveness  Build awareness for TierPoint at industry conferences and other outside events through speaking engagements, panel participation, and meetingsIdentify and sponsor business cases to expand data center footprint while partnering with corporate development, operations, and salesManage and encourage diversity in skills and capabilitiesEnsure all TierPoint corporate policies are respectedOther duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or technical field.At least 10 years of direct B2B sales, product, and/or business management experience in the colocation and data center industry. Demonstrable experience in executive-level relationship development. Recognized as an industry expert in the colocation space, particularly in the development of multi-MW environments.Excellent knowledge of Data Centers, Connectivity solutions (including outside-plant fiber, cross-connects, internet exchanges, cloud on-ramps, and telco circuits), pricing models, and buyer criteria. Existing relationships with data center buyers and decision-makers in the technology and service provider ecosystems.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with quantifiable attention to detail.Demonstrated leadership performance in a fast-paced B2B environment.Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities with minimal supervision.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and with others. Ability to operate in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications

 

Preferred Experience

Prior experience particularly in the retail colocation, scale colocation, and/or data center industry

TierPoint is committed to practices that promote pay equity and transparency. We provide a compensation range for roles that may be hired in locations with pay transparency law requirements. It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements.
Pay Range $160,000.00 - $246,222.37
