Your role and responsibilitiesABB’s Installation Products business is comprised of 38 marquee brands, within the Thomas & Betts portfolio. The business is focused on reciprocal partnerships with our channel partners, providing high quality products while stimulating new demand. The Chanel Sales VP is responsible for the success of the US business, comprised of 4 regions and numerous channel partners on each the retail, utility & C/I business. The Vice President, Channel Sales will develop and execute the Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) sales strategy by focusing on market needs and business goals. As the business is in strong growth mode, it is imperative to drive this mindset by holding both channel partners and employees accountable. Though ELIP has a business plan and a growth goal, collaboration and synergy with other ABB business units is essential. The Vice President, Channel Sales will build and sustain an effective culture focused on people development and a respectful workplace, with a focus on customer retention and strong collaboration with functional stakeholders to drive as one team. It is essential to attract, develop, and retain ABB talent while fostering independent rep relationships. This position is remote and requires frequent travel throughout the United States. Successful candidates will be located in a major US metro area. This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division in the United States. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tCreating a culture of accountability, clear strategy, and financial discipline, focused on external needs. •\tCoach and mentor Channel and Sales employees, with responsibility to assess performance through Annual Performance Reviews for all Channel employees. This includes Ensuring retail & other channel partners are performing at, or above plan.•\tFoster collaborative relationships with ELIP sales team as well as other ABB business units.•\tAllocate resources (both direct and independent reps) to increase revenue, gain customer support, and position for future growth. Ensure market reach to key markets and customers. •\tManage National Account Manager engagement, collaboration with sales for conversion & growth opportunities.•\tCollaborate with Sales, Sales Ops & Comm Ops to develop annual programs - including Signature Service.
Qualifications for the role\tBachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, marketing or related field required, Master's degree strongly preferred. \tMinimum 15 years related experience in electrical / manufacturing industry, including at least 5 years in sales leadership. \tSales experience of a $100M + business. \tUnderstanding and experience with full portfolio of products and services (including power distribution one-line and installation products).\tAbility to develop and drive strategy with clarity and collaboration of key stakeholders. \tStrong integrity and ethics as well as a strong sense of accountability.\tAbility to travel at least 50% nationally, as needed. \tCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
