**The National Primate Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Veterinary Technician Clinical Case Manager to join their team.**
The Veterinary Technician Clinical Case Manager (E S 7) will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating rotating Veterinarians at the non-human primate breeding facility in Mesa, AZ. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all rotating veterinarians are informed, prepared, and supported throughout their assignments. This includes overseeing schedules, providing regular case updates, and ensuring that both weekday and weekend teams are ready to deliver high-quality care. The Clinical Case Manager will also liaise regularly with the Seattle veterinary team to ensure seamless communication across locations. This is a full-time position requiring 5 days on-site per week with flexibility for extra hours, including weekends as needed.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Resource Management (40%)
+ Manage Rotating Veterinarians: Act as the primary coordinator for rotating veterinarians, overseeing their schedules, shifts, and case assignments and assisting to coordinate travel arrangements when needed
+ Prepare Veterinarians: Ensure all rotating veterinarians are fully informed and prepared for their duties, including providing detailed case histories, upcoming procedures, and any necessary medical updates.
+ Coordinate with Weekend On-Call Vets: Ensure weekend on-call veterinarians are well-prepared with all relevant information, including potential issues and case handovers.Maintain communications with Seattle team (20%)
+ Liaison with Seattle Team: Maintain regular communication with the Seattle veterinary team to provide updates on clinical cases, share important findings, and ensure cohesive care across locations.Clinical case Management (30%)
+ Clinical Case Management: Assist in managing clinical cases involving non-human primates, providing ongoing support to veterinarians, and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
+ Case Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all clinical cases and ensure timely updates and communication between teams.
+ Reviewing medical records to ensure chronic disease states are noted by Veterinarians, and to ensure treatment plans are updated based on Veterinary directives.
+ Helping to track when clinical endpoint criteria are met based on veterinary-directed guidance
+ Assist in development of treatment algorithms (under guidance of veterinarian) to ensure consistency of care between rotating veterinarians
+ Facilitate communication between veterinary staff and behavior staff to guide decisions on social status as it relates to health statusSupport as required (10%)
+ On-Site Flexibility: Be available to manage additional hours as needed, particularly during weekends or for emergency cases.
+ Support Veterinary Procedures: Assist veterinarians during procedures, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries when necessary, ensuring high standards of care.
+ Team Collaboration: Work closely with both the Mesa-based veterinary team and the rotating veterinarians to foster a collaborative, well-coordinated work environment.
+ Team Collaboration – working closely with the vet services manager, BMS manager, and AT Supervisors to coordinate daily activities. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent.
+ Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with experience in managing teams or rotating veterinarians preferred. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Strong leadership and organizational skills, with an emphasis on managing and preparing rotating veterinarians.
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and provide comprehensive updates.
+ Flexibility to work additional hours and weekends as necessary.
+ Ability to read and understand animal medical records and generate medical record entries with appropriate medical terminology.
+ Proficiency in medical record keeping and documentation software. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Experience with non-human primates or large animal care preferred, but not required. **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
+ Full-time, 5 days a week on-site, with flexibility for additional hours.
+ On-call availability to assist in managing weekend and emergency coverage.
+ Location: Non-Human Primate Breeding Facility, Mesa, AZ
