Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital's Neurology department welcomes a dependable and outgoing Veterinary Technician Assistant, Animal Care Attendant to join our growing team! We seek a highly motivated individual who can provide exemplary care to our patients and clients. ACAs in our neurology department have opportunities to work with and learn from our Neurology RVTs, ACAs, and also our board-certified Veterinary Neurologists. Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is a strong asset in this fast-paced environment.
General requirements and responsibilities:
Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and offering a gentle voice of assurance
Ensure animal housing or enclosure is clean, sanitary and comfortable
Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and pet parents, with a compassionate and nurturing attitude
General housekeeping duties; pet holding areas and common areas when required
Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
Capable of independent initiative, while adapting to changing situations and prioritizing workload
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a high quality of care in a busy environment
Willingness to learn more regarding; pet nutrition, veterinary services, updated medical office procedures
Collaborative approach with a team focus while the veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
A love of all companion animals!!
Schedule: Full time including some Saturdays.
