In this position... 
You will be a key member of the Vertical Electrical & Software Architecture (VESA) team. The VESA team owns the complete vehicle electrical and software architecture for each FNV4 program. We work with other architecture and design teams to develop the overall electrical and software architecture to support yet to launch vehicle programs. Key work areas for the team include developing a comprehensive architectural specification and to work with various functional teams to validate and document Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Our team will also be working on the evolution of Ford’s electrical architectures

You'll have... 
 

Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines 10+ years of experience with systems/HW/software architecture and design for embedded systems

Even better, you may have…

 Master’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or related disciplines Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and software systems Experience with computer programming, embedded operating systems and computing hardware  5+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering or design (MagicDraw, Simulink or similar tools) 5+ years of experience programming with one of C/Python/C++ Good understanding of AUTOSAR, both classic and adaptive and other operating systems Good understanding of service-oriented architecture principles Strong leadership skills and excellent team player Ability to act as an open-minded change agent Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

What you'll do...
 

Platform Architecture: Own the definition of the vehicle electrical and software architecture for one or more of the FNV4 vehicle programs from now through post launch.  Solution Development: Develop architectural solutions to meet program needs. Change Management: Document the high level electrical and software architecture for a given vehicle program, the elements that it is composed of, and interfaces between those elements. Manage the changes closely to enable stability in the overall platform. Architectural Assessment: Assess what updates to the System, HW and SW platform might be needed to accommodate new features and user experiences. Work with the System, HW and SW platform teams to get the changes incorporated into, and then utilized across all programs. System Integration: Drive integration efforts across vehicle systems, and drive the resolution of architectural issues on the programs, particularly the ones that are cross-functional. Performance Analysis and Optimization: Work with various functional teams on to support the assessment and optimization of architectural KPIs such as latency, power utilization (including Key-Off Load), network bandwidth, CPU Utilization, etc.  Strategic Leadership: Define how the overall vehicle electrical and software architecture will need to evolve going forward (near term and long term) Mentorship: Mentor engineers on topics related to vehicle electrical and software architecture
