Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Purchasing Analyst in Richmond, Virginia. This role is primarily focused on handling daily procurement operations within the IT sector. The position is 100% on-site and involves processing and maintaining electronic procurement requests, reconciling vendor inquiries, and procuring IT goods and services in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities • Handle the day-to-day procurement functions, including selecting the most suitable procurement method. • Efficiently process and maintain electronic procurement requests received through the Procurement service desk. • Reconcile vendor inquiries and discrepancies to ensure smooth operations. • Participate in vendor meetings to discuss and resolve any procurement-related issues. • Evaluate purchase requests from end users, working with them to obtain accurate specifications and/or requirements. • Ensure maximum competition in procurement processes by implementing effective competitor analysis strategies. • Procure IT goods and services in adherence with established policies and procedures. • Administer contracts effectively, ensuring all agency policies are followed. • Handle pre-bid and pre-proposal processes efficiently to ensure the best procurement outcomes.
