Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. Responsibilities Position Summary Role: Vat Room Operator (Days) Responsibilities: Assures proper pumping and mixing of numerous egg products simultaneously, compliance with safety work rules, and adherence to food safety and quality policies. It’s a rotating 12 hour shift role. Week 1: Work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday Week 2: Work Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday Duties and Responsibilities Safety: Follow all safety procedures, use PPE, and adhere to SOPs. Production: Hook up, connect, inspect product lines, load tankers, pull samples, monitor solids and quality, and manage cooling procedures. Coordination: Set up silo assignments, switch silos, complete HACCP paperwork, and communicate with maintenance. Operations: Operate CIP system, handle chemicals, work with USDA, and prepare liquid schedules. Teamwork: Work as a team, lead by example, and communicate effectively. **Physical Requirements:** Walk on cement, climb stairs, and handle physical tasks. Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills Education: Less than high school education. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and present information effectively. Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic operations. Reasoning Ability: Common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems. Other Skills: Safety-minded, motivated, punctual, leadership, problem-solving, mechanical knowledge, and teamwork. Qualifications Other Skills and Abilities Safety: Thorough knowledge of all safety procedures. Independence: Able to work independently. Motivation: Motivated with strong time management and organizational skills. Punctuality: Must be punctual and alert. Leadership: Excellent leadership skills. Math Skills: General math skills. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills. Environment: Able to work in wet environments. Mechanical Knowledge: Some mechanical knowledge. Troubleshooting: Good troubleshooting skills. Physical Ability: Good physical ability for lifting and connecting lines. Prioritization: Able to analyze work situations and establish priorities. Walking/Standing: Excessive walking and standing on hard surfaces. Interpersonal Skills: Relate well with employees, other departments, and supervisors. Assistance: Ability to assist Lead Person with daily tasks and fill out USDA PEBs. First Aid: Member of the First Aid Team. USDA Certificates: Assist lead in completing USDA certificates. Advanced Troubleshooting: Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting problems and assisting other locations.
