Job Description
We are seeking a Validation Engineer responsible for the creation and documentation of modeling plans for the engineering team, along with initiating new processes and tools using FEA and computer engineering programs/software. You will assist with the overall development, testing, and evaluation, providing support for mass production startup based on both client and internal requirements. Additionally, you will validate suspension components, analyze and test metal fatigue for new products, assist the testing team with setting up R&D simulation tests, and collaborate with the Design and Product Development teams to report problems or failures to improve the product.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and document modeling plans for the engineering team.Initiate new processes and tools utilizing FEA and computer engineering programs/software.Assist with overall development, testing, and evaluation.Provide support for mass production startup based on client and internal requirements.Validate suspension components.Analyze and test metal fatigue for new products.Assist testing team with setting up R&D simulation tests.Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams and report problems or failures to improve the product.Essential Skills3+ years of validation/CAE related engineering experience.Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus, and/or Nastran simulation software.Proficient understanding of metal fatigue and structural analysis as it relates to metal and steel components.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Good communication and team collaboration skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsAutomotive chassis related experience (professional or schooling).Proficient use of Catia, Solidworks, AutoCAD, or Unigraphics.Work Environment
The role involves a combination of R&D testing environment and desk work. Expect to spend approximately 70% of your time on computer-related tasks and 30% assisting the testing team in R&D test cells. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $36.53/hr.
