You will have a primary focus on serving as the primary administrator for all servers to include application, file and printer server Operating Systems, as well as Active Directory. This will include Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure and virtualized environments (both server and desktop).
HOW A UX ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Responsible for administration of Microsoft Servers listed on the SSR, Active Directory, file and print services to include account maintenance of OIG forestCoordinates all maintenance activities including testing and scheduling for maintenance weekends including ensuring that all change records have been approved prior to maintenance eventsDevelops mitigation strategies when vulnerabilities cannot be remediatedCoordinates with IT security for review and acts on any directed changesDevelops and submits change requests and tracks to completion for software upgrades and patches.Develops technical architecture documentation that details procedures for installation, maintenance, security, configuration, and disaster recoveryRecommends enterprise upgrades, changes, or enhancementsResponds to events and incidents with possible security architecture or negative user experience impacts; takes necessary corrective actions promptlyWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
BA/BS in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields or equivalent demonstrated experienceRequired Experience:
3+ years of specialized IT experience in Windows-focused administration to include Active Directory services, Endpoint Management and file and print services.Required Technical Skills:
Knowledge of and experience administering Microsoft Windows environment including information security principles, concepts, practices, systems software, database software, and immediate access storage technology to carry out activities relating to security certification and accreditationAbility to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical Windows and software updates and vulnerability issuesAbility to assess risk factors and vulnerabilities to recommend mitigation strategiesAbility to ensure coordination and/or collaboration on upgrade activitiesAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with management and other technical specialistsAbility to plan, organize and manage tasks on time with minimal supervisionImplementing and administering a Microsoft Windows Directory Services InfrastructureDesigning Security for a Microsoft Windows NetworkMust possess ability to successfully implement hardening of the server infrastructure in appropriate server rolesDesigning and implementing a Microsoft Windows Network InfrastructureIn-depth knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP technologies on WindowsExperience with server monitoring toolsThorough understanding of Active Directory DC design, Schema, OU design, AD replication topology, and DC backup/restore proceduresExcellent working knowledge of DNS, GPO's, Message tracking and performanceDesired Skills and Abilities:
MCSE certificationMicrosoft Endpoint Management / IntuneExperience with Microsoft Applications to include the following: Autopilot, Defender Office 365 and licensing in an enterprise environmentSecurity Clearance Level:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions).
