The Utility Groundskeeper will be responsible for plant grounds keeping and janitorial duties as assigned. Operation and maintenance of various mowing equipment including the operation of Mid-size farm tractors. Assist other employees as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages vegetation across the 2000 Acre site using tractors, brush hogs, weed eaters, and zero turn mowers. Additional equipment as determined. Assist maintenance personnel as directed (e.g. Transport tools and supplies, perform rough work in the trade area involved, function as a fire watch, clean work area after completion, etc.) Manage inventory of all maintenance and cleaning supplies and procure items as needed to ensure adequate stock availability at all times Perform inspections and repairs on gas lawn mowers and major diesel and gas equipment. This includes but is not limited to, oil and fluid changes, belt, hose, and spark plug replacements. Janitorial work: Empty trash, cleaning common areas, moving supplies and equipment Land scaping Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessaryKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Operation of general farm equipment (i.e. tractors and PTO driven mowers) Operation of general lawn care equipment (weed eaters, Zero-turn mowers, and other hand tools) Equipment inspection. (checking fluids, tire pressures, looking for worn out parts, fueling up equipment, general equipment cleaning) Equipment maintenance (adding fluids, simple fluid changes, greasing of equipment, tightening loose belts and hoses, oil and filter changes on gas lawn mowers) Know how to properly use basic mechanics tools. Basic understanding of cleaning materials and how to use and dispose of these cleaning materials. Identify vegetation growth areas and determine the best method of controlPosition Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required 2+ years' experience operating and/or maintaining farm tractors with a preference for Diesel equipment experience Any Gas or Diesel mechanics certification preferred Heavy equipment operator certification preferredWhy should you join our team?
