Utility Associate - Truck Shop

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for filling in/performing all jobs in assigned area/department in absence of regular worker. Trains new and current associates on jobs in area as needed. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

     

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

Help other mechanics as needed; pick up parts; replace mud flaps, etc.Correctly complete mandatory computer entries and/or paperwork in a timely mannerKeep work area and truck shop clean including sweeping, mopping, etc.Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not requiredBasic math skills

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Ability to perform one or more functions of the truck shopDemonstrated leadership abilitiesAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Stand up to 8 hoursLift up to 60 lbsWork in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipmentAbility to lift 10 lbs repeatedly and climb stepsAbility to frequently kneel, crawl, stoop, and bendWork around raw, live animal odors
