Your role and responsibilitiesThe Utility Area Sales Manager is engaged in customer facing implementation of aggressive measures to achieve sales to Electrification Installation Products Medium Voltage Utility customers in the assigned geography. This individual also ensures individual Business Unit sales targets are met or exceeded and that net margin maximizes profits within the geography. The individual participates in ELIP MV Utility planning and ensures that strategies are aligned with the district and regional objectives, in conjunction with talent management and recruitment. This individual will have dual roles - Area Sales Manager and handle some direct accounts.This is a remote position, with successful candidates located in the San Diego or Los Angeles metro areas. This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division in The United States. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tImplementing the regional ELIP MV Utility strategy within the geography.•\tBeing the escalation point on ELIP MV Utility commercial decisions. The ASM will be responsible for top local accounts relationship & results •\tCoaching sales resources to make winning decisions, plan better, and effectively allocate resources based on customer needs and potential for growth. Monthly Review of local performance of all ELIP MV Utility Direct/Distributor served customers and Rep companies•\tSupporting the Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions, as well as in the preparation of competitive/strategic offers.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s Degree in STEM or Business strongly preferred. Candidates without a degree with commensurate experience will also be considered. Minimum 5 years sales experience within the electrical industry. Senior Account Management experience.Understanding and experience with full portfolio of Electrification Medium Voltage products and services (including power distribution one-line and installation products) required. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
