US Transportation Specialist
Adecco is excited to announce our partnership with a well-established local company to support their staffing needs for a critical **US Transportation Specialist** role. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-volume, temperature-controlled facility, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance, accurate routing, and seamless execution of outbound shipments. **Scope:** The US Transportation Specialist is a critical role responsible for executing daily tasks to ensure all outbound shipments are compliant, accurately routed, and billed. This role works closely with various departments, including Purchasing, Planning, Distribution, Operations, Customer Care, External Carriers, and Customers, to ensure timely execution of outbound shipments. Additionally, this role collaborates with business partners to identify best practices and resolve challenges effectively and efficiently. **Job Summary:** This role involves managing transportation activities such as booking, tracking, and providing support for domestic and international shipments. The position is within a high-volume, temperature-controlled facility. **Compensation:** Pay is based on experience, starting at $22 per hour or higher. **Essential Functions & Responsibilities:** + Oversee exception reporting for multiple carriers to ensure accurate PRO/BOL and shipment information. + Complete and maintain compliance and DG certifications as required. + Collaborate with the Trace Compliance team to address incorrect coding and provide necessary education. + Support documentation requirements in partnership with the Export and Trade Compliance teams. + Schedule and coordinate LTL, TL, LCL, and container shipments with appropriate carriers on a global scale. + Communicate directly with carriers, 3PL providers, and fleets to address order or BOL corrections and changes as needed. + Assist in data collection and quoting for global sales and customers. + Troubleshoot issues promptly as they arise. + Adhere to control procedures and policies to complete assigned tasks. + Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment. + Be available to work extended hours, including mandatory overtime, as business needs dictate to meet daily goals. **Qualifications:** **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Understanding or ability to learn international shipping processes, including creating commercial invoices and shipper’s letters of instruction (SLI). + General proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems preferred. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. + Maintain positive and cooperative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. + Regular and predictable attendance. + Meet ADA requirements as outlined in this job description. + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. **Work Environment:** + Prolonged sitting and working in front of a computer. **Education and Experience:** + High school diploma required; 2 years of advanced education preferred. + Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required. + 3+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, distribution, or warehouse operations preferred. **Benefits:** A comprehensive benefits package is offered. **Pay Details:** $22.00 to $40.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
