US Insurance Investment Marketing Manager

The Franklin Templeton U.S. Marketing organization is a part of U.S. Distribution and is responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategy and related deliverables / communications designed to drive flows and retain assets. The U.S. Marketing organization oversees the end-to-end client experience and works with all related functions to achieve a seamless journey for Franklin Templeton clients. Within the U.S. Marketing organization sits the US Insurance Investment Marketing Manager responsible for content creation and maintenance related to many of our custom investment solutions.  A requirement for this role is to spend a minimum of 2 days per week in one of our offices, we are flexible as to which office this could be.  

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the US Insurance Investment Marketing Manager?

Develop and manage investment marketing content for custom insurance strategies including but not limited to: custom indices, multi-asset mandates, and variable insurance options

Create collateral in close partnership with key stakeholders across Franklin Templeton’s specialized investment managers, US distribution sales teams, and strategic partner firms.

Execute workflow requirements to create deliverables, which includes creating briefs and submitting requests via our workflow system Workfront to our web, creative services, and compliance partners.

Work closely with the marketing operations team to properly on-board and set up accurate maintenance of content.

Partner closely with US marketing channel leads to best align new collateral with strategic marketing plans for relevant channels.

Create deliverables based on important guidelines including compliance-related requirements to ensure content and communications are appropriate for specific audiences. Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure marketing activities adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify opportunities for content evolution and enhancements.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sales and marketing leadership, strategic partner firm marketing peers, and others. 

Track and report on usage of content, including both quantitative and qualitative measures, to best measure effectiveness.

Stay updated on new content development trends pushing for innovative ways to develop collateral.

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone be successful?

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

5+ years experience in financial services industry, preferably in sales or marketing 

Experience with custom retirement, insurance and/or multi-asset strategies

Securities licenses encouraged.

An understanding of economic and financial concepts and capital markets

Creative and strategic thinker

Digital-first and resource sensitive mindset

Analytical approach to planning ensuring KPIs are established and tracked for marketing efforts.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Proactive approach to work with ability to anticipate needs.

A strong collaborator who can effectively work with colleagues in other teams. 

A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables.

Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

Willing to constructively challenge the status quo.

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $112,600—$129,500.
