The Department of Urology at NYC Health + Hospitals is a dynamic and collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality patient care while also providing education and mentorship to medical students and resident physicians. With a diverse team of six full- and part-time physicians, the department is committed to advancing the field of Urology through innovative techniques and training. The department also benefits from the expertise of two physician assistants and two nurses, all of whom contribute to a patient-centered approach to care. The hospital currently operates a state-of-the-art Davinci robotic platform and is in the process of adding a second, further enhancing the department's capacity for cutting-edge surgical procedures. Additionally, the Urology Department boasts a dedicated 1,400-square-foot outpatient suite, which is fully equipped with separate examination, procedural, and waiting areas to ensure a streamlined and comfortable patient experience. With over 240 resident physicians and fellows across 18 programs, the hospital provides an environment rich in educational opportunities, supporting the next generation of medical professionals. The position includes an academic appointment at NYMC at a level commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Robotics Surgeon in Urology specialize in urologic oncology, reconstruction, and treatment of benign diseases, with a focus on advanced robotic techniques to enhance surgical outcomes. Develop a thriving Robotics Program dedicated to building and expanding a high-volume robotic surgery practice in Urology. Supervise and contribute to the development of didactics and case discussions for resident and medical student training. Instruct and mentor NYMC medical students, offering both hands-on training and theoretical education in urology. Participate in the planning and execution of urologic procedures Ensure the efficient functioning of the outpatient suite, including supervision of clinical procedures and patient interactions. Coordinate with the PA’s and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care for all patients. Support the continuous improvement of the department's teaching programs, integrating new technologies and techniques.
