Based in Calgary, Reporting to the Project Manager, the Foreman will assist with overall project performance and status from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications and budget. They manage labor and subcontractor schedules, safety, and quality, and keep management well-informed of progress, discrepancies, questions, and any impacts on project plan and schedule.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community, while keeping them informed of relevant informationAssist in planning and preparing schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelinesComply and ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable HSE legislation and company policies and procedures, contract requirements, and Black & McDonald policies and procedures• Lead and supervise a team comprised of labour and subcontractors towards successful project completionAssist the project team to ensure project objectives, schedule, budget, cash flow, policies,procedures, and performance standards are met in accordance with company policy and contract

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School DiplomaWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5+ years’ experience working in the construction industry in a General Laborer role, on utilities (electrical/civil) projects.SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work safelyAbility to work in a team environmentPossesses a valid Alberta Drivers License, Class 5 (or 1, 3 would be considered an asset), and a clean drivers abstractExperience in reading and interpreting utility locates/blueprint drawings, and ordering materials such as aggregatesGround Disturbance CertificationConstruction Safety Certifications including the following are considered assets.Traffic Control Person (TPS) CertificationFlagging CertificationConfined Space Awareness/RescueFall ArrestWHMISFirst AidLeadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)Please be advised that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
