Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The mission of the Office of Assessment, Accreditation, and Academic Program Planning is to support the University by leading activities related to University-wide accreditation and institutional effectiveness.

To accomplish its mission, OAA provides consultation, training, and administrative and technical support related to assessment, including General Education; internal and external academic program change procedures; SACSCOC compliance; and strategic planning activities for faculty and staff.

Position Summary The purpose of the University Specialist is to support the planning, execution, and closure of projects related to the SACSCOC Reaffirmation of Accreditation, departmental reviews, institutional effectiveness and assessment, and strategic planning. The position also provides back-up support for various OAAAPP activities. Minimum Qualifications

BACHELOR’S DEGREE AND ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.

Key Responsibility Project Management Essential Tasks Knowledge of administrative policies of UNCG and reaffirmation policies and Principles of Accreditation of SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) and other accrediting agencies. Knowledge of project management methods. Maintains familiarity and some depth of understanding of UNCG policies that relate to the University’s accreditation. Knowledge of requirements for reporting and documentation for SACSCOC as they relate to accreditation. Independently provide consultation and program/project administration in a program/project of moderate scope and complexity, with more flexible parameters. Plan, analyze, and organize daily activities, data management, consultation and/or counseling, marketing, and/or business administrative duties. Key Responsibility Project Administration Essential Tasks Develop and maintain project plans for significant projects or responsibilities for the Office of Assessment, Accreditation, and Academic Program Planning, working with the director to ensure timely completion of project deliverables. Apply project management approaches as appropriate to improve efficiency and effectiveness of OAAAPP responsibilities. Develop project plans for but not limited to SACSCOC reaffirmation, SACSCOC fifth year interim reports, academic program reviews, and the assessment reporting process. Monitor progress on projects and advise when projects are not meeting deadlines and what the consequences are. Develop migration plans when needed. Coordinate and administer program(s) project(s), activities and protocols. Manage resources and budget. Prepare and manage contracts and grants. Monitor activities and assess risk and quality control associated with the program. Manage recurring cyclical projects within the department. Key Responsibility Consultation Essential Tasks Works with constituents in the office, on campus, and at external organizations to gather information, seek appropriate advice, and convey knowledge that is within the purview of the Program Specialist.
