Position Accountabilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1. Utilizes appropriate communication skills to meet the needs of children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
assuring understanding through various methods i.e. verbally repeated information, written communications.
2. Processes radiology requisitions for outpatients, inpatients and ER patients appropriately.
3. Generates patient log information.
4. Initiates and maintains accurate patient film files.
5. Prepares films for release to physician or medical institution.
6. Answers telephone; screens and directs calls to various sections of the department.
7. Performs reception duties in systematic and efficient manner, focusing on accuracy and speed whileconsidering
requirements of area of responsibility.
8. Demonstrates competency in clerical skills as evidenced by quality, accuracy of filing / pulling,and
appropriateness of procedures used.
9. Follows-up on activities to ensure continuity of patient care/ completion of procedure.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Medical office experience or hospital experience preferred
Computer skills with 30-40 wpm typing
Medical terminology knowledge preferred
