JOB SUMMARY:
Performs secretarial duties in support of the Regional Medical Center Building Director. Provides secretarial support to the management team as requested by the Vice President, Strategic Planning & Marketing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Answers telephone; screens and directs calls; takes and relays messages; provides general information. Greets and directs visitors; answers general inquiries. Schedules/coordinates meetings and special events; prepares materials, agendas, as necessary. Maintains appointment calendars; schedules appointments; notifies supervisor of commitments; distributes notices and agendas. Receives, sorts, and distributes mail; complies relevant information to assist supervisor in handling inquiries. Types/Transcribes, proofreads, and edits correspondence, reports, charts, schedules, etc.; collates and assembles reports and documents. Drafts correspondence for supervisor’s signature. Coordinates travel arrangements for supervisor. Coordinates mailings and distribution of documents. Establishes and maintains files; keeps manuals up to date; retrieves information, as required. Maintains proficiency in use of MS Office and other departmental computer applications.Complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. QualificationsEducation and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
3. Previous experience as a unit secretary or a similar administrative role within a health care setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in computer applications and electronic health record systems.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and sometime high-stress health care environment.Additional Information
