The Unit Manager ICT is accountable for the effective, efficient and optimised operation of the South Deep IT infrastructure and systems which includes overseeing IT operations, team leadership, issue resolution, project implementation and governance management through system security enhancement, documentation and reporting aligned to the broader Group ICT Strategy.  As a people leadership role, the incumbent drives various safety, health, environmental, risk and culture transformation campaigns.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Relevant B-degree or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification 10 years’ experience in an ICT environment, of which 5 years should be at a management level Relevant Professional Certification(s), such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Project Management Professional (PMP) Expertise in ERP and Mining Systems (SAP ECC6 EHP8, Success Factors, Mine RP, Mineware, Deswik and Leica) Expertise in Cloud Services, including AWS Hosting and Azure AD and core infrastructure systems, such as Cisco Meraki SD Wan, Palo Alto Firewalls, etc. Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Advanced safety leadership with proven safety campaign delivery record Accomplished team and people leader with strong inter- and intra-team collaboration and influencing skills Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external business relationships Sound business understanding of mining and commercial systems Knowledge of principles and methods involved in business and organisational planning and execution, including strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modelling and leadership techniques Sound technical knowledge of ERP systems, mining systems, networks, workstation management, security management, data centres, network security (i.e. firewall and anti-virus systems), project management tools and integration of ICT systems ICT Outsourcing, Contracts Management,  Vendors and Service Providers Knowledge of accounting principles which includes the application of accounting and financial principles, procedures and terminology as well as maintaining financial records, preparation of reports and interpretation of these records, including budgeting policies and procedures

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in and lead various Safety, Health, and Environmental campaigns Participate in and lead team coaching, resourcing, capability, succession and talent management initiatives Lead daily operational performance engagement with teams, facilitate root cause analysis, develop remediation plans, and analyse operational delivery trends to implement optimized ICT delivery processes and systems Develop, review and refine the South Deep ICT strategy execution programme designed to enable delivery of the regional strategy  Provide guidance to operations leadership and the ICT Steering Committee on strategy enablement and execution Regularly assess, adapt, and review the ICT execution programme meet evolving business requirements Manage regional ICT governance, risks, and security to ensure compliance and safeguarding of information Ensure adherence to Group ICT architecture, standards, and policies while advocating for enhancements as necessary Lead the regional ICT team in delivering comprehensive ICT services, including Network Management, Workstation Management, application enhancements, and vendor management Participate in the monthly ICT management committee, providing detailed reports on service delivery, financials, project progress, governance, risks, security, compliance, and people management Plan, forecast, and manage regional ICT financials, focusing on cost optimization without compromising service levels Compile and manage capital and maintenance budgets Plan and implement ICT projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring successful completion Ensure the implementation of ICT Architecture with associated functional and technical services Identify and assess ICT needs, incorporating new and innovative technologies with tangible business cases Keep abreast of emerging technology trends and advise on their commercial implications
