The Unit Clerk supports the nursing staff by performing clerical duties and assisting with patient care. \n
Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nCommunicates with other departments as necessary- maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, security, etc. \nPerforms clerical duties such as ordering supplies, answering the telephone, delivering messages, making charts, coordinating and organizing transfer paperwork, and more.\nSupports patient care- making appointments, calling providers, and assisting with prior authorizations.\nAnswers call bells and coordinates bed assignments with Charge nurses.\n\n
Required Skills and Experience:\n\nHigh school or equivalent experience\n\n
Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nPrior patient care \nCustomer service experience \nClerical experience\n\n
Physical requirements: \n\nFrequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).\nLifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment, IV solutions), with or without reasonable accommodation.\nAbility to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers.\nAbility to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, as the position may require.\nCapacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\n
Location and Travel Requirements:\u202f\u202f\n\nOnsite at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850\n\n\nFull Time- 5x 8-hour shifts, 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS\n0% Travel can be expected in this role\n\n
Pay Range Disclosure:\n\nStandard Rate of $16.00 per hour plus benefits\n\n
OR\n\nEnhanced Rate of $18.31 per hour w\/o benefits\n\n
