Job Title: General Laborer

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team in the cleaning and sanitation of a flour mill. Initially, you will focus on maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, with opportunities to cross-train in packing, milling, and other areas.ResponsibilitiesPerform general cleaning and sanitation of the flour mill.Sweep up flour dust and keep the plant clean to meet safety standards.Conduct blowdown procedures by cleaning dust off equipment and sweeping it up.Follow lock out/tag out procedures when cleaning inside equipment.After the initial 30-60 days of cleaning, transition to roles in the warehouse or mill based on needs and interest.Adapt to a rotating schedule if transitioning to warehouse or mill roles.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.Strong attention to detail and good with hands.Comfortable using computers and performing data entry.Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.Strong math aptitude, including counting, reading, and writing.QualificationsInterest in learning the art of milling.Experience with 12-hour rotating shifts, baking, cooking, palletizing, quality inspection, forklift operation, materials handling, and machine operation.Comfortable working around flour dust and loud noises.Ability to work in hot conditions, especially during summer months.Why Work Here?Join a union company with uncapped wages and annual negotiations for pay increases. Work EnvironmentWork in a Fortune 50 food company's flour mill that supplies retail grocery stores. Follow safe food handling practices, including wearing a hair net, beard net, hard hat, and steel-toe shoes. The facility is old and run-down from the outside, dusty, loud, and can get very hot in the summer, reaching up to 115 degrees. You will get dirty and covered in flour, and the 13-floor building can be slippery from flour on the ground, requiring daily stair climbing.
