Undergraduate Academic Advisor

The College of Science is currently seeking multiple Undergraduate Academic Advisors to join our Advising Team. The successful candidates will work within one of our 10 departments; Computational Modeling & Data Analytics (CMDA), the School of Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Geosciences, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, and Statistics. The positions are full-time administrative and professional faculty calendar year positions.

The key responsibilities for the academic advisor include one-on-one advising; consistent and accurate communications with students; and confidential, consistent, and accurate maintenance of student records. The primary emphasis is on advising majors, including course selection and registration advising, creating plans of study, monitoring progress to graduation, performing graduation clearances, explaining college and university policies and procedures, communicating to students electronically, and working with students not making satisfactory academic progress to address deficiencies and create remediation plans.

Cross-training to familiarize themselves with another undergraduate program offered in the College of Science is expected. As necessary, the selected candidates may assist another College of Science department with advising on an intermittent basis should the need arise. The College of Science is committed to broadening participation and inclusive excellence.
