Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

Research, inventory, and analyze existing content. Evaluate content and propose solutions that increase content cohesion, remove/review dated material. Content can include events, staff and program updates, imagery, headers, and downloadable materials. Work closely with IFAS communications for content strategy implementation guidance to help develop great digital experiences to successfully impact Florida residents state-wide. Content should include an appropriate Search engine optimization (SEO) keyword strategy. Work with assigned Extension program and/or county contacts to gather needed updates. Set-up the parameters and strategy on how to manage individual content for the long-term. Write appropriately for digital platforms using a clear, simple, and straightforward style. Procure existing content and edit/adapt the information for public audiences. Web updates will be made via the T-4 content management system and meet UF requirements for accessibility and branding.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Connect existing digital resources like image and video assets and use them appropriately. Understand business and technical requirements to supply appropriate content. Learn about issues that are important to Florida residents statewide relating to agriculture, natural resources, nutrition and healthy lifestyles, landscaping and conservation, sustainability, fiscal management, to boost website visibility and engagement. Content Strategy: Translate UF/IFAS stories and ideas into inspirational and conversion drivers that are appropriate for different devices and sustains the vibe for an emotional connection. Focus on website goals from a user point of view, to help define how content should be organized, positioned, and made relevant. Create structure using taxonomies and other classification schemes, relationships (ontologies), so content can easily be cross-linked and dynamically served within the site as well as more effectively integrated in cases of syndication. Identify what the most popular topics are and how to optimize our content to meet these demands and movement between related materials. Generate reports as needed. Expected Salary:

$18/hour, commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Tasks require appropriate experience and/or familiarity with updating web content, web writing, content strategy, and digital content coordination.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (with technical and non-technical team members).

Have an eye for basic design aesthetics with the ability to crop and place images.

The ability to work collaboratively and independently.

User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) knowledge preferable.

This is a Time-Limited (temporary) full-time position. Work hours will be flexible within the Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm work week. This position offers flexible work arrangements such as hybrid/remote work locations (up to 5 days per week).
