About PLUS:

PLUS is an award-winning human-AI math tutoring program that aims to double the rate of math learning in middle school students, especially those from low-income families. PLUS is operated by CMU in collaboration with Carnegie Learning and Stanford University and is led by Prof. Ken Koedinger and Shiv Gupta. 

The PLUS program features a hybrid tutoring platform that combines human and AI tutoring to deliver personalized learning for each student. PLUS Tutoring serves thousands of students in over a dozen schools across the country.

About The Role:

As a Tutor Supervisor at PLUS, you will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, managing, and deploying tutors at our partner school sites.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Recruiting, onboarding, and supervising college tutorsWorking across cross-functional teams to coordinate and schedule the tutoring program at partner schools.Meetings and regular communication with PLUS leaders and school administratorsConducting orientation and training for new tutors in conjunction with learning engineersDeveloping and maintaining relationships with school administration, classroom teachers, tutors, and studentsMaintaining files and records of tutoring activities and for each tutored studentProviding feedback on tutor performance to ensure a positive learning experience for tutors involved in the program.Develop, facilitate, and evaluate math tutor training resources.Coordinate weekly training workshops in partnership with faculty and other staff.Manage payroll approval processes.

What You Bring:

Required:

Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience1-3 years of relevant experienceMust have the willingness to engage with and mentor college students.Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple ongoing priorities.Excellent communication skills and a commitment to implementing inclusive practices.Growth-focused mindset with an emphasis on mentoring students
 

Recommended:

Master’s degree or above3+ years of relevant work experiencePrevious experience running a tutoring program and supervising student employees.

Requirements:

Successful background checkAbility to obtain PA Act 153 clearances.
