Tube Laser Machine Operator

General Summary

The CNC Tube Laser Machine Operator is responsible for the execution and running of a CNC tube laser operation.  Responsibility for the setups, working with CNC programs and machine software along with the general running of the tube laser operations. Works under general supervision; relies on experience and general instructions to perform the functions of the job.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Operate CNC tube laser cutting machine used in the production process.Stage material, load material and unload finished material from machine.Program machine per order requirements and nesting software to minimize scrap.Checks processed aluminum tube shapes to ensure operation is producing to required job specifications.Trouble-shoot as necessary to optimize machine productivity and minimize downtime.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Provide a high level of detail and attention to focus on the given task.Ensure production schedules are followed and process paperwork as necessary.Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures.Monitor machine inputs and perform preventive maintenance tasks per manufacturers machine recommendations.Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Knowledge

Minimum high school diploma.Minimum of 2-3 years of running CNC laser machines, tube laser experience preferred.Working knowledge of mathematical functions.Must be able to understand and interpret the various Machine Code for CNC machines.Working knowledge of computer equipment.Must be at least 18 years of age.
