We are seeking an Assistant TSCO to help us provide safeguarding, destruction and transfer of classified material to the Laboratory. The Classified Material Control (CMC) team is an integral piece of the overall mission of the Security Administration Group, which aims to provide superior security administration services to JHU/APL, while executing the requirements, restrictions, and safeguards prescribed by the NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117 to safeguard classified information. This team provides excellent assistance to JHU/APL programs and staff in the arenas of classified material control, personnel security clearances and classified visits. While serving JHU/APL, we continuously strive to partner with government and industry security leaders to improve and streamline the administration that surrounds the protection of classified information. As a TSCO Security Representative, you will... Be responsible for assisting the TSCO with TS Operations (Full Accountability of TS Material, to include conducting annual and quarterly inventories, processing external transmittal & internal transfer receipts of collateral TS material, issuing TCN’s (TS Control Numbers) to newly created TS Material using Security Integrated Management Systems (SIMS). Provide accountability oversite for TS DAA’s housing collateral, this includes periotic combination changes, inventories, and reviewing derivative classifications and markings within NAVSEA related projects. Performing effective communication skills with APL Program & Project management staff, contracted industry related FSO’s & TSCO’s, and US Navy personnel. Provide support to TSCO personnel at both the Main Campus and MP6 offices. Perform courier functions to DCS (Defense Courier Service). Serve as a TSCO/CMC office representative to the FSO Administrative Inquiry (A.I.) team. This will include problem solving discrepancies, writing discrepancies reports, perform a high level of communication with APL FSO’s office, Sector and Department Designated Security Representatives (DSR’s) and Defense Counter Intelligence Security Agency (DCSA) representatives. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have... Four-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of security related experience. Computer and office skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff. Excellent organizational, follow through, and attention to detail skills. Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing. Are able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs and up to 60 lbs. A valid state of residence driver's license that is in good standing with the MVA. Are able to obtain Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Working knowledge of APL 's practices and procedures, facilities, services, and key personnel. Working knowledge of Accountability, Handling and Destruction of classified material in accordance with NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117 requirements.
