The University of Virginia seeks a Treasury Manager (TM) to join the Office of the Treasurer. The Treasurer's Office serves as the steward of the University’s financial resources, practicing sound financial management to support academic and healthcare excellence. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Finance, the Office of the Treasurer ensures the sustainability of the University’s mission and goals through effective treasury management and insurable risk management.
The Treasury Manager provides leadership to the Treasury team within the Cash, Debt, and Asset Management portfolio. This position is responsible for overseeing cash flow, debt management, and asset optimization strategies. The Treasury Manager plays a critical role in guiding the University's financial strategy while maintaining compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate capital project activities with the University’s Financial Advisor to ensure accurate representation of the University’s position within the Central Bank model.Develop and implement cash flow forecasting models to optimize liquidity management.Manage relationships with banking partners and ensure efficient operation of banking systems, including the Bank of America CashPro System.Oversee debt issuance and compliance, including preparation of reports and disclosures for rating agencies and other higher education organizations.Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Treasury associates in cash, debt, and asset management practices.Collaborate with University departments to assess financial risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation.Prepare and submit surveys, liquidity reports, and other financial documentation required by external agencies.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in treasury, finance, or related areas.Strong knowledge of the Bank of America CashPro System, including administrator-level rights, global payments, ACH, and other functionalities.Demonstrated ability to manage and train Treasury associates in cash, debt, and asset management.Proven experience in submitting surveys and liquidity reports to rating agencies and other external organizations.Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional certifications such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships.Familiarity with higher education financial models and practices.Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.Why Join Us?
