Travel MSICU RN - Nights - Newburgh, IN **AUTO OFFER** NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE) Gross Weekly Pay - $3,150 wk./48 hrs. $2,362 wk./36 hrs. Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 1/27 - Bi-weekly orientation Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request) Primary location: Gateway Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7 CST Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 3 years RN experience, 1 full year of ICU/Critical Care experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population: Sepsis, pressors, large abdominal surgeries, respiratory distress, AKI/renal failure. Not cardiac heavy, no neuro/CVA. Skillset: REQUIRED- Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), ETT/Vent management (RT available), Initiate/titrate drips (sedatives, paralytics, pressor, antiarrhythmics, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! PREFERRED- Post code TTM, CRRT, massive transfusion (Belmont). Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. Unit Information: 13 beds; can flex up to 17, typical census is 14-15 beds. Ratio: Days 1:2-3; NOCs 1:2-3 (third patient often waiting for transfer) CN takes at least one patient on each shift. All shifts have CNA support. Unit Strengths: Staff is very thankful for travelers and wants to make them part of the team. Manager has been with the organization since 2008 and over the unit since 2020. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed The SICU Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for applying the nursing process and delivery of patient care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), sometimes referred to as Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACUs). The Registered Nurse consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable for managing patient care post-operatively and assisting others in the management of patients as they come out of anesthesia.
