Travel Phlebotomist
Job Title: Travel Phlebotomist **This position will require relocation to Rochester, MN** Job Description The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods (capillary, venous, assisted line, and arterial collections) and standard safety equipment from all age groups, adhering strictly to regulatory requirements and collection procedures. The role involves working primarily between two hospital campuses in general patient care areas, including pediatrics, and providing support services to Intensive Care Units and the Operating Room. Responsibilities also include accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, handling, transportation, and testing using Point of Care equipment. The phlebotomist must maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer relations and communication skills. Responsibilities + Obtain quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods. + Adhere strictly to regulatory requirements and collection procedures. + Work across two hospital campuses in general patient care areas including pediatrics. + Provide phlebotomy support services to Intensive Care Units and the Operating Room. + Ensure accurate patient identification, specimen labeling, handling, and transportation. + Perform accurate specimen testing using Point of Care equipment. + Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. + Utilize good customer relations and communication skills when interacting with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals. + Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor. + Work independently as well as part of a team. + Possess skills in coping, understanding, following written and verbal instructions, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.
