Trauma Registrar

Job Summary

Familiarity with State criteria for a Level III trauma designated facility is a core component in this role. Identifying variances in care and criteria fall-outs to help guide the overall care of trauma patients in this organization. Responsible for trauma registry chart audits, data compilation, state registry reporting and data entry within trauma services and in collaboration with other registrars. Frequent interaction with providers and support staff, as well as survey teams during re-designation cycle. Trauma Registrars have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. The Trauma Registrar, in collaboration with Trauma program leadership, develops and assures the quality and accuracy of the trauma registry database. Identifies cases, abstracts and maintains the trauma registry according to existing regularity requirements.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Completion of Nursing Program Minimum Work Experience 2 consecutive years in acute care setting preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse AIS Course within 12 months ICD10 Coding Certificate within 12 months Trauma Data Registry Course within 12 months CPR Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Familiarity with acute care, expected and required documentation of such Efficient, thorough chart auditing skills Compile data and identify trends Demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office utilization Meeting and communication professional etiquette/attire Participate in committee reporting as requested Demonstrate confidentiality
