GENERAL SUMMARY 

Manage all components of the Trauma Registry, including data collection, data entry, and data retrieval/statistical conversion. Review trauma admission records for data collection and abstraction. Analyze all records for quality assurance trauma standards recommended by governing bodies and as stipulated by regulatory groups. Perform the abstraction, coding (ICD) and application of all trauma data points in the registry taken primarily from inpatient trauma cases.  Apprise program coordinator of all relevant trauma audit filter inconsistencies via periodic quality assurance reports. Produce various other quality assurance reports as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School diploma equivalency and 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Prior experience as a Trauma Registrar highly preferred ICD coding experience highly preferred Medical Terminology knowledge preferred - HIM degree preferred - Data abstraction experience preferred
