Job Description
Arcadis is seeking a dedicated Design Engineer, Transportation Engineering for our growing London office. We are looking for a junior member with a passion for road and linear infrastructure in Ontario. Experience in some or all of preliminary and detail design, water and sewer design, transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.
This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, communication and attention to detail. As a Design Engineer you will be asked to assist in developing a capable design team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to start their professional portfolio and have a deeper and impactful role as a strategic member of the practice in Arcadis.

Role Accountabilities:
Support the Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation and municipal infrastructure projects such as preliminary design, detail design, and tender preparation.Provide oversight of design for large- and small-scale projectsReview of preliminary and detailed design drawings, reviewing and supporting report-writing (e.g. design memos, meeting minutes, etc.)Coordinating with Project Engineer, Project Manager and Project DirectorFoster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focusEngage in business development opportunities under the direction of the Team LeadProject coordination between other design disciplinesQualifications
Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university0-6 years of Project Management/Design Lead experience in municipal or transportation engineeringP.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferredExperience with MTO, City of London, Region of Waterloo, or other Ontario municipality are an assetFamiliarity with preliminary and detailed design of arterial/municipal roads and linear infrastructure (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety, external drainage areas, sewer design) an assetFamiliarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads and Civil3D an asset Understanding of traffic engineering principlesFamiliar with construction inspection and preparation of reportsAbility to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clientsAdditional Information
