Our capabilities include intelligent transportation systems, freeway and arterial management, performance measurement, traffic signal systems, traffic management center staffing and support, freight operations, tolling and pricing systems, road weather management, and public transportation. Gannett Fleming efficiently manages existing transportation networks and provides direction on smart city initiatives.

Our ITS team is looking for a highly motivated Transportation Engineer who wants to join an exciting team of transportation professionals in the GF Transportation Operations Group. This position will have the opportunity to work on ITS, traffic signal, tolling, and managed lanes projects throughout the country.

You will be able to work a hybrid schedule with both in-office and remote days.

Responsibilities:

Perform engineering design services throughout the project life-cycle, from concept through construction.Works with lead engineer and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work.Leads the design of specific tasks.Analyzes moderate to complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.Provides direction to younger staff.Develop engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.Communicates with clients on task oriented issues and on project issues under the direction of the project manager/task lead.Use strong writing skills and engineering planning to develop guidance documents and reports such as systems engineering documents. Occasional interaction with clients to relay clear, concise and consistent project related updates.Participate in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget.Prepare correspondence, reports, and electronic communications.Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and committees.Occasional project site visits and field work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or relevant disciplineProfessional Engineer license preferred (at a minimum, you should be on the path to obtain P.E. licensure)4-8 years' experience working in a relevant fieldExpertise with CADDExpertise with MS OfficeAbility to travel as neededSome experience with management of project tasks
