Transportation Coordinator
SUMMARY: Ensure vehicle safety and maintenance standards for a fleet of 24 vehicles, develop and monitor daily operation plans, and coordinate transportation support services with other NCC programs. SCHEDULE AND LOCATION: Full time Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Position is office-based and located on Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue in Southeast Washington, DC CLASSIFICATION: Exempt This position has an annual salary range of $50,000-52,000. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Develop and maintain all records supporting the vehicle safety and driver education programs to include vehicle repair and mileage/gas records + Assist in the development and maintain vehicle inspection/maintenance schedule + Conduct regular inspections for detection of unsafe conditions; train staff to conduct inspections and develop tools to record inspection deficiencies + Provide follow-up actions for inspection deficiencies and/or vehicle safety issues + Assist in the communication and scheduling of educational programs for employees with driving responsibility + Provide dispatching support as required during daily operations of the department + Maintain regular review and support to the safety training program provided to all staff who participate in transport activities + Support the daily transport activities through transport/driving assignments QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (Required to perform essential functions) + Knowledge of fleet vehicle maintenance management + Working knowledge of defensive driving techniques + Strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization + Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines + Familiarity with fleet management software such as Geotab and SambaSafety a plus + Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) + Full vaccination for Covid-19 is required prior to the first day of employment EDUCATION, LICENSURE and EXPERIENCE + HS Diploma or GED + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record + Two (2) years of experience in the field of transportation management + National Safety Council defensive driving certification NCC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
