CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Transportation Business Line Director to join our Transportation Business Line located near any of our major Eastern US office locations including Colonie, NY; Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA; and Miami, FL.

The Business Line Director will be responsible for providing overall P&L management, strategic direction for their assigned business line to ensure the profitable growth of this business. This includes developing a Business Line specific growth strategy, working with all Market Leaders to execute the strategy and grow their business line, as well as overall responsibility for staffing, project management, technical excellence, quality assurance and operational activities within the Business Line.  

 

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

Oversight of respective Business Line - This individual is responsible for ensuring the execution of work through the delivery of high-quality projects and services.Oversight of Business Line targets - Will work in conjunction with corporate leadership to develop aggressive yet attainable operational and financial targets.Preparation of annual budget and management of the Business Line's financial performance.Oversight of project management within the Business Line.Involvement in technical aspects of project execution - will be responsible for ensuring that the proper processes are established and executed in the respective business practices and provide guidance on design principles and project approach.Oversight of pulse and morale of the Business Line - This individual will work closely with the Sector Leadership, Business Practice Leaders, and Human Resources to address areas of growth and improvement.Oversight of staffing levels within the Business Line - work closely with the Sector President, Sector Controller, and Business Practice Leaders to determine the appropriate staffing.Collaboration, coordination and communication across Business Practices and markets, Sector leadership and employees.Leading new business booking and support business development and proposal efforts.Working closely with the Marketing/Communication team on all efforts to best position/brand the business line services and technical expertise, and to develop and execute the growth and branding plan.Identifying potential acquisition targets to support growth of the business.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is required; M.S. or MBA preferred.A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience is required.Professional Engineer License (PE) required.Strategic thinker to properly position the group for strong growth and financial performance.Strong understanding and knowledge of his/her business line as well as the adaptability for future services to be offered.Demonstrated financial management skills and understanding of the P&L.An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups.A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader who can establish themselves as a credible strategic member of management within the company.Technically astute and strategic in thinking to properly position the business line for strong technical and financial performance and client satisfaction.Strong written and verbal communication skills and understanding of their respective business line.Strong ability to resolve matters timely and lead initiatives/projects to completion with a sense of urgency.Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company, and influence decisions from the top down and bottom up.Trustworthy with the ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive information or situations with discretion.Ability to travel on occasion SALARY RANGE:

$200,000 - $225,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
