Our Department: Forestry 

Working Pattern: 8 hour shifts between the hours of 6am and 5pm Mon-Fri. On call 5pm-6:30pm Mon-Fri. On call Sunday 3pm-6pm

What You Will Do

Using specialist logistics software, the Transport Planner’s role is to execute and monitor the wood flow plan to ensure successful outcomes for our clients. This will require you to balance the micro requirements of the contractors to achieve the macro objectives of the forest owners. 

You will be coordinating and scheduling harvesting contractors and logging trucks to uplift loads, thinking about the best overall utilization of the fleet and minimum cost of distribution, solving a myriad of problems that occur along the way. 

You will be monitoring and reporting on production, inventory, and delivery targets, negotiating with suppliers and customers and meeting them in the field when issues demand direct communications. You will also be supporting the Regional Manager and helping create a positive culture within the operation through leading by example.

Other / Preferred Requirements

An understanding or knowledge of the Forestry industry is a plus

Tertiary level qualification; Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in an industry-related field is advantageous
