Sheppard Pratt School in Lanham is a nonpublic special education day school providing educational, therapeutic, and daily living services to students ages 5 to 21. Our tailored programs cater to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. What to expect.
You will assess students’ vocational interests and prepare them for post-graduation based on an understanding of their developmental needs.
Specific responsibilities include:
Preparing the transition component of the individualized education plan (IEP) for students in the program. Serving as a resource for students and their families/caregivers regarding post-secondary planning, including scholarship and financial aid applications, and connecting them with relevant agencies. Developing transition portfolios for students. Assisting in tracking and managing student service-learning hours and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) graduation requirements as appropriate.What you’ll get from us.

What we need from you.
One of the following combinations of education and experience: Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field and experience working with behaviorally challenged adolescents.
